How to Set Goals for your Health

I’ve been talking a lot about achieving goals on my social media lately because Guys!!  There is just over 60 days left of 2018. And I know some of you wrote down resolutions last January, and you haven’t exactly stuck with them thus far.   So I wanted to share a couple of tips on how to set a goal and achieve it rather than quitting.  One of my goals for 2018 was to be in the best shape of my life after having my daughter in February...and I am! Here is how I stuck to my plan and crushed my goal:

1) Make small achievable goals.  Yes, you may want to overhaul your entire diet or lose 100 pounds, but thinking about it on a macro level is scary, and may make you quit.  Set the goal that you want to lose the 100 pounds this year, but plan on losing it two pounds at a time and celebrate each pound lost!!  This will remind you that you are progressing, and that the effort is worth it.

2) write out your why.  Why did you set the goal? How will you feel when you achieve it?  Really visualize what it will be like to wake up as that healthier version of you.  When you feel like quitting, think of that person...the person you are working towards.  Would they make that choice?

3) Don’t let opinions drag you down.  Unfortunately all the people in our lives are not striving to be better.  It sucks but it is the truth.  That means tht you may have someone close to you that wants you to stay in the same place that you are now.  It’s comfortable for them, and they may not want you to grow.  You have to do it anyway. If it is on your heart you have to go for it, no matter what others want.  Have an intentional conversation with them saying that you are doing this anyway because it’s important to you and your life.  That you appreciate their input, but that you have made your choice.

4) Join a group or find a person that is on a similar journey,.  Find positive women to support you!!  This is key, because when you want to give up they will be there to push you forward.

I hope this helps!  And know that you do not have to give in to the demands and pressure the holiday season may bring.   If you are working on a health goal and want to join my coaching circle, the last one for 2018 starts October 29th.  This is super exclusive and is open to 5 women only.  It will be individualized and include a monthly one on one check in with me👌🏼Or if you want to find out if coaching could benefit you (and I know that it will😉) let’s schedule a call to chat about it!!  If you are a hell yes let’s crush 2018 here’s the link:
